A simple wish (twenty-six on friday)

January 20, 2012

And sometimes dreams really are just dreams.

This week could have been a picture of a dream but instead I shot what is real.

And sometimes that’s just the way things should be.

January 10, 2012

I decided to do something a bit different for this ten. I shot the things that make up my day, sort of up close and personal, if you will.

the view from up here (twenty-six on friday)

January 6, 2012

As photographers, we are always looking for ways to challenge ourselves. This year I am taking on an exciting new challenge, a 26 week project. It is similar to the 52 week project most of you are familiar with, except this year we are working on techniques along with our themes. Our themes for our 26 week project will be more thought provoking, so it will be fun to see the different interpretations. I am working along with 11 other AMAZING photographers, 6 of my favorite photographers from my last group and 6 crazy talented news ones, who will be challenging me as the year goes on. Each month we will have a different technique we are working on, and each week we will have a new theme.
For the month of January, our technique is unique lighting and our theme is “view from up here”. After you see my picture, be sure to continue clicking through the different photographers links so you can see the complete circle. Be sure to come back in 2 weeks to see our next theme, you don’t want to miss it!

I decided to show “the view up here” from Prospect Park in Rhode Island. It overlooks downtown Providence, RI.

This is what it’s like to bleed ink (fifty-two on friday)

December 30, 2011

Can I gush a bit first? I can’t believe I made it to the end of this project. Really am amazing feat for me. I grew so much because of this project and I’m left with so many images that I will treasure for the rest of my life.

My biggest resolution for the new year is to spend more time with my children. I don’t want to wake up one day and realize that it has all passed me by in a blur.

we’ll leave all our cares behind (fifty-two on Friday)

December 23, 2011

I have this weird thing about setting birds free. I don’t know why it appeals to me so much but it does.

Anyway, this started out as a last-minute-scramble, turned into an inspired idea and ended with me realizing I have some of the best friends a girl could ever hope to have. I think a lot of moms/women end up isolated and alone after having children, I know I did, but I’m so happy to have found my “flock”.

It’s sort of like being set free.

Instead I will share with you some out-of-place on my portrait photography’s blog images from a Grieves show that I had the opportunity to shoot this week. Red everything.
