Poetic Imagery Workshop

March 11, 2013

poeticimagery

Learn to shoot from the heart to create poetic imagery.

Follow Val Spring and Breeze Floyd as they cover emotion-led shooting. Over the course of this two week workshop, Val and Breeze will cover creative use of focal points, post processing, using a lensbaby as well as other alternative forms of shooting. They will discuss working with clients as well as documenting honest, every day moments. Over the course of three assignments, you will learn to let go of the rules and focus on capturing the emotion.

A PDF file will be provided at the end of the workshop with the content covered during the workshop.

$250 active seat/$200 silent seat
You MUST have an active Bloom Forum membership during the workshop.

Africa trip

March 10, 2013

Several months ago I was approached about volunteering to travel to Africa to take pictures and document life at a community center that is filled with is filled with many widows, orphans, and grandmothers in Zambia, Africa! After some thought, I decided there was no way I could pass it up! This grassroots project is called Chikumbuso. Chikumbuso offers Women and children once left feeling lost because they are infected with AIDS a safe haven where they can learn, excel and experience a community that is filled with support for them.

In order to make this trip a reality for me, I will be fundraising!

the days they turn to weeks (twenty-six on friday)

September 28, 2012

Slowing down can be the hardest thing to do.

Lately I’ve been inspired by many different things. I’ve been more and more interested in shooting things with a much different feel than what I normally would shoot.

Sometimes it can be hard to let yourself slow down, and change.

This song also makes me want to slow down and just think.

nothing i’ve done (twenty-six on fridays)

August 17, 2012

This picture isn’t anything super special. In fact, I have a ton more just like it. But, it is very important to me. I know that when I look at this picture in the years to come, I will be instantly brought back to the summer of 2012. The summer Myra spent working so hard with her cow. The summer we both learned so much, about trying new things, not being scared and being okay with getting a bit (okay, very) dirty. This has been the best summer I have ever had with Myra. I can’t wait to share these same experiences with the twins.

Now, please head on over to: Kiwi Street Studios!

Would I be in love alone? (twenty-six on Friday)

August 3, 2012

It’s time to reflect…

Reflecting can be pretty hard.

Sometimes looking back and realizing all the things you’d like to change, all the mistakes you’ve made along the way, and all the regrets that are filling up your heart can be painful.

Retracing all your steps, trying to figure out where you went wrong…

Now head on over to the amazing Kara May Photography. I hope your find her blogs music as calming and beautiful as I do!
