and I hope that you’ll catch me (fifty-two on friday)

October 28, 2011

I had big big plans for this theme. Unfortunately, as I often do, I got hung up on one small specific detail and when that fell through, so did the idea.
So instead I will bring you a picture of this beautiful sweetheart. The reflection in her eyes is gorgeous to me.

Now check out Startin Photo Phoenix AZ Photographer!

And she’s a beautiful little girl.
Her smile lights up the whole world.

But it’s the magic in her heart
that inspires me so.

all our best intentions have only come to this (fifty-two on friday)

September 30, 2011

It’s not what I meant for it to be; it’s not what I had in mind.
But sometimes, that’s okay.

I can’t wait to see Jules Trandem-San Diego CA Family Photographer‘s take on ruffles.

know that i loved you all along (fifty-two on friday)

September 23, 2011

do you think the camera keeps the memories of love once shared?
do giggles live on long after little girls are grown?
do love stories ever come true?
they’re just moments lost in time.

if our love doesn’t make it, will the sun burn out? or will the minutes keep ticking?
have you ever searched through old photographs just to catch a glimpse of a vintage love?

{walk away. just walk away}

You know who I love? Jules Trandem! You should head there next: Jules Trandem | San Diego Family Photographer.

letting through the light (fifty-two on friday)

September 16, 2011

Dessert at my house was a big time failure. Not at all what I had in mind.

Sometimes, life is like that.

I’ve already taken a peek at Jules Trandem | San Diego Family Photographer‘s dessert and you are in for a major treat!

‘Cause maybe then I could sleep at night (our project ten)

September 10, 2011

I wanted to post the song of the hour to go with each of these to make it more like a sing-along. I ran out of time though. Perhaps next month I’ll learn from my mistakes and not wait until the last minute to shoot.

7:45 – We wake up and RUSH to get ready. I have brief moments of trying to convince myself I can get away with skipping this project this month, then realize that’s probably not true. I grab the camera and get in literally one snap before the bus comes. Obviously, the kids were not even slightly concerned about me getting a useable picture. The children go to the same school, but only Myra takes the bus.

8:15am – Trying to get the twins to stand next to each other for a picture. They can’t decide where to stand. Eventually, I start shouting, they start laughing, and a 52 is born. Then, it’s time for me to bring them to school.

9:30am – The 52 has to be up by 10am so I figure I should probably do that now. This is actually how most of my day is spent (at the computer, not working on my 52, but I’ll only share it this once)

10:45 – I head to the Superintendents office to get the PTO flyer approved. I use the drive to have a little Craig Owens in my life.

11:30 – Time to pick up the twins! They are in separate preschool classes and are always very happy to be reunited.

12:30 – Lunch for the twins! Aria is already sick of the camera.

1:30 – This is actually my fourth trip to the school today. I copy, cut and count the flyers out to stuff in the mailboxes. This is the first PTO flyer of the school year. Because of my loud mouth and ugly font disapproval last year, I think I’ll be making most of the PTO flyers this year. (these are cell phone pictures, of course)

2:30- Ramsay is starting to get anxious that Myra still is not home. He will continue to wait by the door until all of the kids are home.

3:30- Time to pick Myra up (yes, this makes my 5th trip to the school for the day) Then we head over to my friend, Wendy’s house so I can give her some PTO mail.

7:30 – Time for a night out! After 8 long weeks, a bunch of my BFFs meet for drinks and desserts! Missed the friends that couldn’t make it! We had a blast, though, of course!

Now, head over to Z’s the Day Photography to check out her ten on ten!

it floats up to the sky and soars like the birds.
I’ll be smiling as long as you’re around,
you make the day feel like a sing-along.
